	The History Program at UNBC is designed to teach students to think critically and clearly and to express ideas with facility and accuracy. The study of the past is also intended to lead to a clearer understanding of the present and thus produce better, more informed citizens. Such objectives are common to any university program in History and, to some extent, teaching these skills is more important than covering vast subject matter.
