	The Nottingham Trent University was the first university to establish a BA in Broadcast Journalism within the United Kingdom. This innovative course gained official recognition from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (formerly the NCTBJ) the industry's training standards organisation, at its first attempt. In May 1998 it became the first undergraduate course to receive Bi-Media recognition by the BJTC.
