Information on this group which was founded in 1972 as a non-profit professional society. The official acronym is NOBCChE (pronounced No-be-shay). It was established for the primary purpose of building an eminent community of scientists and engineers by significantly increasing the number of African-Americans in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, and related technological fields. The vision is to be the society of choice for minority scientists, helping them optimize their potential as scientists.
